I'd make dang sure the vehicle does not look like an ambulance anylonger if you are gonna sleep in it. At your age, some one may make a mistake if they find you in a deep sleep

I have been looking at similar vehicles for a while.
The 7.3 is the best diesel going. (Most of the old mechanical 5.9 Cummins trucks are used up)
If you are wanting cheap fuel they tolerate waste veggie oil pretty well. You would need to add another tank and heaters especially in your location.

Where did you buy it from? Were all the stickers off or did you have to do that?

How are the boxes made on these, aluminum sheet over square steel framework? I was considering an ambulance or shuttle bus to haul my little tractor. I would need to remove all the compartments in the ambulance for the tractor to fit. I was wondering if an enclosed trailer shop would remove the sides and rear entry door to add flat sides (no compartments) and rear ramp door.

A local airport parking garage has shuttle busses for sale now that have CNG V10 motors in them. All the motors are junk. They would need a motor swap. They are selling cheap. I don't think I want to do a motor swap in a van cab. A Ford motor would fit the current transmission, but I know nothing about the Ford stuff.

I bought it from a private owner, who bought it from a EMS squad in Michigan. He used it to tow a camper, claimed 10 mpg towing a 28 footer. He took all the stickers off. The inside has all the cabinets still in place, I am still in planning mode. To register as a RV in Ohio, I have to have a bed, a stove, a table, and either a refrigerator or ice box. This is a Marque body, and measures 52" between the cabinets. If you removed them, you can gain about 5" on each side between the wheel wells. It has a 110 inverter, 1500W, and can use shore power 110 also.

It has 410,000 miles on it, drives like a new one. According to the stickers, and the log book, it has been on synthetic oil from new, right now it has Amsoil in it.

You might look at some of the older Internationals, they also had a 7.3 in them, with an Allison transmission.

Well, it already has a bed...unless it got left at the hospital.

awesome motors.....all you need is a spare $40 cam sensor in the glovebox.

watch the trans temps, if you pull a grade with a trailer, that was the weakspot on the 7.3. We upfit them with the newer 2008-2010 6.4 liter trans cooler and really helped them out.

It has a trans temperature gauge in it. What temperature is safe?

Nice find Frank.

You could always name it ‘The Meat Wagon’ and make some extra cash selling things like Frank-furters, Sam-burgers, Adams ribs, Ghoulash, Chuck steaks, Sue-shi, Finger sandwiches, and Roadkill stew with a Bloody Mary. Shocked
